London Calling 🇬🇧

Hands down craziest day of my life. After leaving camp this morning I had about two hours at home before I headed off to the airport to fly to London. I will be in Europe for three weeks studying industrialization with the Regents Scholars Program at Texas A&M Commerce. Here we go it's going to be absoluly crazy but amazing!

Camp Ozark Orientation

Camp orientation was by far the most exausting, busy, and intense experience I have ever had. But it was also the most rewarding and incomparable experience I have ever had. Ozark runs orientation like a normal camper week, but when the kids would be doing fun activities and classes we have orientation and training sessions to prepare. Day one just like normal campers we check in then go straight to our swimming test. Now while Arkansas springs are absoluly gorgeous taking a swim test when is 70 degrees outside can definatly be chilly experience. Next were also assigned a tribe Caddo or Osage. Each day every camper competes in a tribal competition for points for the last day ultiamate solution to decide which tribe wins the session. I was assigned to the Caddo tribe and competed in soccer, bombardment (dodgeball), flicker ball (like ultiamate frisby with a football), newkum (similar to volleyball), and ultimate ball (like ultimate frisby but with a small ball). Through competing we learned the ins and ours of all the games and tons of teamwork to use to help the campers compete when we coach them at the end of the summer. On Friday we had ultimate solution which is a GIANT relay race across camp that every single person competes in. During our ultimate solution is was pooring rain which made the competition so much more intense! My team competed in the swim relay. In the end Ossage won the overall ultimate solution, but it was definatly a tight competition.  My favorite part of orientation though was the daily worship services and cabin bible studies. It was so uplifting being surrounded by over 700 college students all worshiping and focusing on God's plan in their lives. Bible studies brought my cabin so close which made the camp experience even more incomparable. I absolutely cannot wait to go back in July to work my camp sessions serving God and the campers. Now today it's a quick trip back to Fort Worth before heading to London this evening! God is so good and this summer is just getting better and better.

Camp Ozark so far...

The last few days in Mt. Ida have been absoluly crazy. Each day I spent about 11 hours training in the craft department. We made hair bows, friendship bracelets, candles, Chapstick, posters, and about a million things more.  I have met some of the coolest people from all over the world. It's crazy how well you get to know people in only a few days. Now we  have just a little less than 24 hours off before we head back to camp for staff orientation!
